About Us

We are a body of believers dedicated and committed to worshipping and serving Jesus Christ in our community of Southmont, and wherever His will may lead us. As a Southern Baptist, evangelical church we seek to join like-minded believers in fulfilling the great commission of making disciples for Christ.

At Stoner’s Grove Baptist Church, our desire is to be like Christ in reaching out to people regardless of age, race, gender, or station in life. We have or are currently seeking ministries that are geared toward all ages and backgrounds. Whether it be children, youth, or adult groups, we have a place for you! It is our prayer to equip and encourage everyone to seek Jesus Christ and His will through praise and worship, discipleship and fellowship. That we be grounded in God’s inerrant Word as we minister to others, who, will also seek to fulfill God’s will for their lives.

Deuteronomy 31:12-13a (NKJV) – Gather the people together, men and women and little ones, and the stranger who is within your gates, that they may hear and that they may learn to fear the LORD your God and carefully observe all the words of this law, and that their children, who have not known it, may hear and learn to fear the LORD your God.

Our Pastor

Rev. John Bishop – Senior Pastor

Pastor John has served as Senior Pastor at SGBC since May of 2022. Since his call to the Gospel ministry, his desire is to preach the Word of God exegetically with clarity and zeal. He and his wife Judy share a blended family of five children and four grandchildren.
